12' xBased on a Bohr model. Elements, are the basic building blocks that make up everything we experience in the world. For example H20/ water is made up of two Hydrogen and one Oxygen element working together to make a 'compound element'.. which just means that two elements decided to make friends and spend time together; as long as they are on good terms, we experience them as water. Each element in this table is a color coded description of the sequential shells in which electrons order around the nucleus of an atom, which make one element distinct from another. Elements are the building blocks that make up everything in the world. The number of electrons in the outer shell of an atom dictates its personality. The elements to the far left on the table, form relationships with almost any other element; while the ones all of the way to right are very independent and and don't combine at all. One of the things which fascinates me about the periodic table is the the small differences that make one element different from the next. 8' installed size, comprised of 118, 8"x 8" hand painted canvases.
